Mild brain injury or concussion is the most common type of traumatic brain injury. Yet it is often undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Headaches after a blow to the head can result in mild discomfort for some; in others, they can make it difficult to concentrate, sleep, and manage daily life. Post traumatic stress disorders (PTSD) are occuring in many veterans returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but PTSD can also be present in civilians who have been in life threatening experiences.
These tips cards on mild brain injury and head trauma provide information for adults and veterans on the symptoms, treatment, and recovery of concussion, post traumatic headaches, and post traumatic stress disorders. They are written for families, individuals, therapists, clinicians and caregivers in hospitals, rehabilitation programs, home, and community agencies.
