Darnell, injured as a teenager, lives at home and attends college. Narrated by his parents and sister, they talk about their emotional trauma, the process of grieving, his recovery and their struggle to accept this different person.
Ariel, injured when 17 months old, is now a teenager. Her parents and sister talk about adjustments and expectations, the effects of raising a child with special needs on their marriage, and their fears and hopes for the future.
